The test session is not timed. It
is anticipated that most students will be able to complete the
test in approximately two hours, but students may work
throughout the entire day of the test.
Graphing calculators featuring only basic arithmetic functions are permitted.
Scoring & Achievement Levels
Multiple Choice and Open (Grid) Response questions are scored objectively, with
one point awarded for a
correct answer and no points awarded for an incorrect response.

Because the TAKS program is new, it is anticipated that lower cut scores
separating Met Standard and Standard Not Met will apply to test takers in 2003
and 2004. In 2003, a raw score of 25 will place the student in the Met Standard
performance category while in 2004, the minimum raw score required will be 29.
