Although the Texas Education Agency mandates that students are required to pass all 11h Grade TAKS tests as a requirement for high school graduation, testing occurs across many grade levels. This is done to track student progress over time, allowing ongoing identification of those knowledge domains or strands, if any, in which students require concentrated study efforts. The administration schedule by grade level for Spring 2003 follows:

* 11th grade students who fail to achieve mastery on any TAKS test may continue to retake the test at the regularly scheduled administration time in an effort to pass it and receive their diploma.
