to students who want help preparing for the TAKS tests. Regardless of whether
tutors are privately hired or volunteers, the quality of the assistance varies
considerably, as do hourly rates charged by private tutors.
To help students connect with available tutors, TAKS-Pass has created registries
of private tutors and volunteer tutoring programs. Students seeking tutors may
search the Private Tutor and Volunteer Tutoring Programs databases. Likewise,
tutors and tutoring programs may register to be listed in the appropriate
database. There is no charge to search or register.
